For, while his name is Guillaume, Guillaume Apollinaire to be precise, he ignores that it's the eve of November 11, that Germany is about to capitulate and that it's another Guillaume, Wilhelm von Hohenzollern, the defeated Emperor, whom the crowd is claiming.
